Zwei große Meister des guineischen Tanzes kehren zurück nach Leipzig, um ihre Kunst mit uns zu teilen:
🌟 Seny Bangoura – international anerkannter Tänzer, ehemaliges Mitglied der renommierten Ballets Africains de Guinée und Spezialist für traditionelle Maskentänze.
🌟 Makiti Camara – charismatischer Tänzer mit kraftvollem Stil und großer Bühnenpräsenz.
🎵 Für die musikalische Begleitung sorgt Lancei Dioubate, Meistertrommler und Lehrer aus einer Griot-Familie. Mit seiner Live-Musik schafft er eine lebendige Verbindung zwischen Rhythmus und Bewegung und gibt den Tänzen ihre Seele.
Unser Ziel in diesem Jahr war es, ein vertieftes Verständnis für die Vielfalt westafrikanischer Tanzstile zu vermitteln. Deshalb bestand unser Programm aus fünf Modulen – jedes widmete sich spezifischen Rhythmen, Tänzen und ihrer kulturellen Bedeutung.

West African Dance Workshops – Guinean Ballet Style 🥁✨
We are thrilled to invite you to our Guinean ballet-style dance workshops! 🤗
Two great masters of Guinean dance are returning to Leipzig to share their unique style:
🌟 Seny Bangoura – internationally acclaimed dancer, former member of the world-renowned Ballets Africains de Guinée, and a specialist in traditional mask dances.
🌟 Makiti Camara – beloved for his charisma and powerful, expressive dance style.
🎵 Music is at the heart of dance, and master drummer Lancei Dioubate will provide live accompaniment. Coming from a Griot family, Lancei is a professional musician and experienced teacher who brings depth and connection to the rhythms and movement through his mastery of traditional instruments.
Throughout 2025, our aim has been to offer participants a deeper understanding of the richness of West African rhythms, movements, and cultural traditions. This is why we structured the workshops into five distinct modules, each exploring specific dances, rhythms, and their cultural meaning.

Makiti, ein herausragender Künstler des westafrikanischen Tanzes aus Guinea gibt sich die Ehre in Leipzig!!!!.
Bereits im Alter von sieben Jahren begann ihre Ausbildung im traditionellen Tanz bei großen guineischen Meistern. Diese Ausbildung ermöglicht es ihr, zwei Ballette in Guinea zu leiten, insbesondere das Ballet Matam, und sich der Gruppe „Camara percussions“ anzuschließen. Makiti nimmt an zahlreichen künstlerischen Veranstaltungen wie Aufführungen, Videoclips und Workshops in Japan, Taiwan, Gambia, Senegal, Mexiko, Israel, Spanien, etc teil. Er ist Teil der Kompanie Kobe Na Awati, die von Aïssata Kouyaté geleitet wird.

West African Dance Workshop – Guinean Ballet Style
Dance and Percussion Workshops with Makiti Camara and Lancei Dioubate in Leipzig, Germany!
We are very excited to invite you to a new cycle of dance workshops in the Guinean ballet style. This unique experience will take place in Leipzig, Germany, in 2026.
Our goal is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the different rhythms, movements, and dance styles. The workshops are divided into five modules, each focusing on specific dances and rhythms, exploring their cultural richness and expressiveness.
For this special occasion, we have invited the outstanding dancer and choreographer Makiti Camara. Many of you already know him as one of the most important figures in Guinean dance. With his charisma and excellent teaching skills, he will offer participants an inspiring and educational experience.
Since music plays a fundamental role in dance, the renowned musician Lancei Dioubate will be responsible for the musical accompaniment, ensuring the perfect dialogue between music and dance. Lancei is a professional musician and experienced teacher from a Griot family, mastering a variety of traditional instruments.

About Makiti Camara
Makiti, its one of better artists of West African dance from Guinea, and will be teaching in Leipzig!!!! Don’t wait any longer, save your place now and get ready to enjoy unforgettable dance moments!
He began his training in traditional dance at the age of seven with great Guinean masters. This training enabled him to direct two ballets in Guinea, especially the Ballet Matam, and to join the group „Camara percussions“. Makiti participates in numerous artistic events such as performances, video clips and workshops in Japan, Taiwan, Gambia, Senegal, Mexico, Israel, Spain, etc. He is part of the company Kobe Na Awati, directed by Aïssata Kouyaté.

About Lancei Dioubate
Lancei is a professional musician and music teacher who lives and teaches in Leipzig since 2018. He comes from a griot family and has been playing djembé and other West African instruments (including ngoni and balafon) since his earliest childhood. He learned music and singing from renowned masters of the national ballet ensemble of Guinea („Ballet National de Guinée“) such as Lauren Camara, Yamoussa Camara, Fatouabou Camara and Lansana Dioubate.

The Afro-Fusion workshop offers an introduction to a variety of Afro-urban dances that are characterised by their dynamic energy and their impressive fusion of styles such as Azonto, Afrohouse, Koduro, Ndombolo, Coupe Decale and others. The focus is on the hip swing as the central element. It is characterised by isolated movements of individual body parts and fast step sequences that harmonise with the rhythm of the music and guarantee fun and a good atmosphere.
Afro-fusion can also integrate elements from hip-hop, funk, jazz, modern and dancehall.
Makiti, a versatile dancer, teaches the workshop with fun and empathy. He teaches basic techniques, fluidity and the variety of Afro-modern dance styles with ease and enjoyment.
